Thackaringa Hills Rest Area
At the Thackaringa Hills Rest Area you can pull off the Barrier Highway along a strip of gravell that has a few low trees for shade, a public toilet, undercover picnic table, rubbish bins and tank water. There is not a lot to do here, apart from sitting at the picnic tables and count the flies.
IMPORTANT: Don't rely on water being available in the tanks.
