The Alivio Tourist Park has plenty of parking, plus a very good restaurant with reasonable prices. Plenty for kids to do a great pool, basketball, table tennis, volleyball court. etc. Overall its a great family place to stay on the edge of Canberra.
When you visit the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre, you will enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Burley Griffin. They provided all the information one could want, including maps and suggested timelines to enhance your stay in the region.
The Canberra South Motor Park is close to the freeway, so expect a bit on noise from passing traffic. The reports Iv'e seen seem to indicate it is overpriced, and outdated, with a lot of permanent residents. However the amenities are kept clean and as neat as possible.
The Hughie Edwards VC Rest Area has public toilets and some undercover picnic tables, and plenty of room to park your rig on the asphalt. If you stop here, be sure to walk over to the memorial, and why not have picnic grab a bite to eat.
The National Zoo & Aquarium is Australia's only combined Zoo and Aquarium.
That's 2 attractions in one! We are situated on around 7 hectares of land just five minutes from the center of Canberra. With a wide variety of both native and exotic animals, as well as the largest inland saltwater tank in Australia, there is something for everyone.
