How to fit coaxial to Clipsal was created by wvac007
Hi all
Can anyone help me know how to connect the coaxial cable to this clipsal tv external socket?
Also, how to assemble the square bit into the housing?
Can't find a video. Thanks heaps, Ken

those suaged fittings are for experts.
i use F type screw on fittings because
a} you don't need tools and
b} if you make a mistake, you can undo it and start again and
c} reducing all your fittings to a common denominator makes it easy or easier to connect devices. reversing cameras, tvs, fm radio. Even power. Run 'em all through .f type fittings and coax.
the square clipsal insert is a snap fit.
Try Bunnings but I've got plenty here if you want to make your own fittings.
A typical connection for an F type is a barrel union in the Clipsal snap fit and then screw on F type fittings onto that.

i use F type barrel connectors with Clipsal connectors that plug or snap in and just screw on the F type connector for your coax. Got plenty here as I imported a few to install a few home security systems. There are two types of fittings. The thin coax you use indoors is RG59 and is slightly smaller than the type you use outdoors which lasts 100 years which is known as Quadrashield or RG6. i've got the screw on fittings for both.
Even used those F type fittings and coax to fit home security cameras in HD with 100' night vision as reversing cameras on a two channel HD reversing mirror. One camera a look down and the other camera a look back. All connected with coax.
The Clipsal fittings is a snap fit.
Typical install is a barrell union in the Clipsal insert which is threaded both ends. F type screw on cable fittings then screw onto this. You can get this stuff at Bunnings on a good day but their range is limited.
I've got all the good stuff here if you are prepared to DIY.

F type fittings you won't find @ Bunnings
I use these to connect security cameras with audio to F type cable. A $40 HD mini dome secutity camera with 100" night vision makes an unbeatable reversing camera!
